It Is Vaping That Helps 6 Million EU Smokers
This is of course a good counter to the claims that electronic cigarettes are simply a way to seek out and ensnare a new generation of smokers. But vaping isn’t smoking, and the entire hypothesis relating the paths of vaping and smoking doesn’t hold water.
We also know that ecig users can still get a hold of some great products. So if you are new to ecigs, you’re still in good shape here. The top ecig brands on our list all put out quality electronic cigarettes. We wouldn’t have them on this site if they didn’t.
That particular headline fronts an article that is very much focused on the constraints that ecig makers now face to get a product to market. This would logically leave only the Big Tobacco backed ecig companies, and maybe a few others, with the ability to move forward. Estimates are that each product will need to run through $500,000 to a million dollars of fees for the FDA application process.
Certainly some believe there will be fundamental changes to the industry. New FDA regulations for electronic cigarettes are now officially enacted, and we are still trying to understand the fallout of it.While it may seem that reports like this one mean everyone is finally getting on board the vapor revolution, things back on this side of the Atlantic are a little more complicated. That’s why you see headlines like “It’s Time to Say Goodbye to the Electronic-Cigarette Industry As We Know It.
That’s how many Europeans are estimated to have made the switch from traditional tobacco cigarettes to ecigs. Yet, as electronic cigarettes expanded throughout Europe and the world, we began to see those numbers rise worldwide.Vaping is helping millions of smokers in America, we know this firsthand and from the data. Six. Now a new study tells us how much Europeans are actually benefiting from the advent of the electronic cigarettes. Six whole million smokers in Europe that is.
The fact is, we are in some uncertain times. Or that the innovation is simply going to grind to a halt now. We don’t know completely what’s ahead, but we do know how right the cause is and we have to believe that they will shine through. But it isn’t one we are going to jump ahead and buy into. It’s a scary thought even for us.Inevitably you are going to start hearing things like, ecigs are a fad.
“These are probably the highest rates of smoking cessation and reduction ever observed in such a large population study,” said Farsalinos. The study, run by Professor Konstantinos Farsalinos from University of Patras in Greece, also found that 9 million Europeans cut down on their consumption of traditional tobacco cigarettes due to ecigs. It’s an impressive statement, to say the least. Think about the impact electronic cigarettes are making in Europe, a continent that was always known for high smoking rates on a whole. Vaping is making a big impact in Europe, and now we have the numbers to back that up.
But maybe in this instant gratification and instant information world, we need to give things a little time for a change. Now it’s going to take some time for us to understand the scope of what it will actually mean for us.The answer for what now isn’t available yet. It certainly took a while for the FDA to decide and then implement their decision.
“The European Union data show that the use of electronic cigarettes seems to have a positive impact on public health for two main reasons — high smoking cessation and reduction rates are observed, and electronic cigarette use is largely confined to smokers (current and former), with minimal use by non-smokers,” Professor Farsalinos was quick to point out.Now vaping, similar to what has happened here in America, is simply changing public health in Europe.
