The Envii Loch Ness 150 Watt Mod. Designed In The USA

This one came as a surprise. A very pleasant surprise. The Envii Loch Ness mod was the first Envii product that we have ever tried here at ECCR. I came across it looking for mods designed in the USA and indeed the Envii Loch Ness 150 watt vape mod is designed in Los Angeles. I noticed that Envii makes some very high interesting vape products. They have proprietary chip technology specially designed for smoother vaping. Intriguing, when you click their “About Us” page, all it says is “We are Envii. We are legion.” Well okay.

Admittedly they did not give me a lot of background as I embarked on the Envii Loch Ness vape mod review. To be honest, I was not expecting much. Generally, the market in mods is pretty well established and we know who the top performers are. I would say that 99% of the time when we test a device from an unknown manufacturer or brand, we find that it does not stack up to the existing standards set by the known commodities of the vaping industry. We do not publish reviews of sub-standard products. As you may have noticed, we are publishing our Envii Loch Ness review. Clearly we found something we liked. Actually we found a lot of things that we liked a lot.

The one thing I will tell you about this vape mod right off the bat is that it is all-world comfortable to handle and use. Vaping the Loch Ness is like a holiday for your hand. I love the fire button location, perfect for a thumb click and it clicks beautifully as well. The available vaping modes are all there including a Tungsten temp control option. It is accurate and responsive. I have to say this was an enjoyable review. The outcome was a mystery, I had no idea what to expect and being surprised in a good way is fantastic. Whenever I get to tell you about something terrific, it is that much more enjoyable to write up a review for you. There is a lot of good things to talk about with the Envii Loch Ness!

Envii Loch Ness 150 Watt TC Vape Mod

What is the Envii Loch Ness 150 watt TC vape mod all about? Well to begin with the obvious it is a 5 watt to 150 watt mod capable of vaping in various forms of temperature control. It is powered by dual 18650 batteries. The temperature control options include stainless steel, nickel, titanium and tungsten. For more temp control vaping options you can also use TCR (temperature coefficient of resistance) or TFR.

There’s a lot that I like about the Envii Loch Ness mod. But what really makes it different? It’s the feel. It is like holding a piece of architecture. The Envii Loch Ness is so seamless and smooth the comfort level is amazing. It is the most comfortable feeling mod I have ever used.

How To Use The Envii Loch Ness Mod

The Envii Loch Ness box mod does a lot. There are a lot of sub ohm and temp control vaping features that you can access. Admittedly, in the course of my Envii Loch Ness review I did not try vaping with each and every feature. I did access each feature and lock it in just to check them all out. But there are just so many things this mod will do. For starters, this is the first mod I have tested with a pre-programmed setting designed to accommodate tungsten coils for temperature control vaping. Most mods have settings for nickel, stainless steel and titanium. The Envi Loch Ness has all of those and tungsten in addition to TCF and TFR. By the way, the pre-programmed stainless steel settings accommodate 304, 316 and 317 stainless steel. You don’t see that every day.

Custom Firing Profile

All of the features listed above are actually the tip of the iceberg. The Envii Loch Ness mod also allows you to control  the firing profile. For example, you can set it to start a firing sequence at 80 watts for the first second, 70 watts for the second second and then down to 40 watts for subsequent seconds. You can program a custom 10 second firing profile any way that you wish. Have a hard initial hit or soft. It’s up top you. Custom firing profiles was popular in mods last year but many new mods are not offering this anymore. I am glad to see the Loch Ness is making this option available to those of you who want pinpoint customization and control.

There are also pre-set custom vape settings including pre-heat, smooth mode and curve mode. Obviously going step by step about how to access each of these would take up the entire Envii Loch Ness mod review! But it actually achieves all of this simply via and expanded menu and access each feature is similar to other devices. The menu is easy access and clear and you will have no problem scrolling through your options and locking it in when you find the right setting for you.

Upgradeable Firmware

Using the Envii Loch Ness mod does involve a large menu but it is all clearly laid out. There is nothing to be intimidated about. The buttons, by the way, click beautiful as this baby is very well put together. With all of the available features you will be able to upgrade the firmware. At ECCR, we take a positive position toward mods that can be updated with firmware upgrades. We like the idea that you and I can buy a mod that will accept new technologies as they become available.

There is already a firmware update available for the Envii Loch Ness e-cig mod. You can get it from the Envii web site. What you do is add the upgrade to your cart and then checkout. It is free and you will not be charged. Once you get the update, you can download it to a computer or laptop. Then  connect the Loch Ness to your computer through the USB port.

Build Quality, Catch Cup and Charging

Before starting my Loch Ness mod review I looked at all of these features and thought about which of these I might need to elaborate on. Of course you will want to know about build quality. The zinc alloy construction is solid and durable. The Loch Ness is a very sturdy mod. I like the bottom sliding battery door. It locks everything in tight with no rattles. My only concern, and for me it is not a big concern, is that the finish does seem to scuff easily.

Next I want to explain the 22 mm catch cup. The Loch Ness has a 22 mm recessed 510 connection. Any tanks 22 mm or less in diameter can be situated in the recessed 510 and catch any wayward e-liquid. If you are using a tank or atomizer with a diameter larger than 22 mm, no problem. I know that a lot of the best vape tanks have larger diameters. Envii has included an adaptor that makes the 510 flush and capable of accepting larger diameter tanks.

Like other mods, Envii claims that the USB port can quickly and evenly charge your 18650 batteries. I did test this for the Loch Ness review and found that the batteries did fully charge in about 2.5 hours. That said, we always recommend charging your 18650s on a separate charger.

That was a lot to unpack for my Loch Ness vape mod review. What is the final verdict? Well if it seems like a lot and you are new to vaping you might want to check out our vaping for beginners guide to find something that might be easier. Who is this mod for? It is for the vaper who wants to be able to access any form of vaping in an advanced, high performance device.

For me the single sentence definition of this device is capability meets comfort. The smooth, ergonomic design is a pleasure to hold, carry and vape. The 150 watt capacity makes this device suitable for every day vaping. It is not a cloud chasing device but it will deliver an excellent performance from your favorite atomizers of home builds. The vaping is responsive and the chipset is spot on accurate and reliable. The comfort factor and value for what you get have earned the Loch Ness our ECCR check of approval.

You can get the Envii Loch Ness mod for under $90. Given all of the capabilities, build quality chip set and off the charts comfort I have to rate the Loch Ness as an excellent value. I also think it looks good. More importantly, it vapes good and feels good! Fin.
