When you use four batteries in GX4 mode, the shape changes from a rounded rectangle to a ‘rhombus’ (I would describe it as a somewhat asymmetric diamond shape with rounded edges), now measuring 59mm wide x 44mm deep (still 87.2mm high) and it weighs in at 204.9 grams. It’s almost double the original size, and people with small hands may find it somewhat unwieldy. The edges are still rounded, and the description that leaped into my mind is … ‘voluptuous.’ There you have it, folks – a buxom mod!

Up Close And Personal

The GX2/4 is a smasher – sheer sex appeal, whether it’s in 2 or 4 battery configuration. It’s made of stainless steel with a tough new paint finish in jewel tone colors with matte black accents: there’s gold, silver, purple, lapis blue, ruby red and emerald green.

The firing bar is a panel running down the side with a clickable top part, and this is where sheer design genius comes in. The (initially weird!) asymmetrical placement of this firing panel on the short rounded side means that the firing button remains perfectly accessible, whether in 2 or 4-battery config.

The Raddest Display

Love the rad OLED display on other SMOK mods? It’s right here, and the crisp 0.96inch display neatly tabulates information about mode, voltage, temperature, resistance, amperage and battery level in both two- and four-battery configurations. The only difference is that battery level indicators change from A/B batteries to AB/CD batteries. Neat!

Impeccable Connections

The gold-plated 510-connector’s spring-loaded contact points ensure tight connections with all your accessories. The SMOK GX2/4 comfortably handles atomizers up to 30mm diameter although you will get overhang from 24mm as the connector doesn’t sit right in the middle.

Aliens Among Us

The Alien chipset controls a temperature range of 100 – 315C, and atomizer resistance from 0.06 Like the Hcigar VT250S it is compatible with titanium, stainless steel, and nickel heating elements and has an efficient preheat system. The user is protected from short circuits and electrical mishaps like overcharging and overheating. Onboard charging of the batteries is fast and provides balanced charging of the individual cells, and there is a pass-through feature which allows you to vape while you charge.

Tied Up with the TFV8 Big Baby Tank

The TFV8 Big Baby tank is already a market leader due to its versatility and excellent controls (see our review here). The EU version holds 2ml e-juice, but the standard version is somewhat larger at 5ml. The kit arrives with V8 Baby-Q2, and V8 Baby-T8 coil heads and the deck will accept practically anything you can throw at it.
