The Small and Stylish Innokin Kroma Box Mod Kit Review
If you’re in the market for one of the best box mod kits, there are few better options than any of Innokin’s innovative product offerings. In a market that’s flush with quality producers and catchy products, you can always count on Innokin to come up with new ideas and designs that will literally blow your mind when you get them in your hand. With that in mind, you would expect that we’d love the Innokin Kroma brand from iTaste when the kit arrived in the mail. Did we? Well, we also post here our review of Innokin Kroma Review.
Even when you assemble the whole thing, you still end up with something that can be impossible to detect in an average-sized man’s hand. With the trend toward size extremes, we can’t help but be impressed by the diminutive nature of this little unit. It’s ideal for stealth vaping, portable enough to take with you anywhere, and attractive to boot. Not bad, Innokin.
The Features
Apart from the wattage and temp control, the main feature is the Aethon chipset. Since I’m more familiar with the YiHi at this point, I was interested in seeing how the Aethon performed for temperature regulation. In our tests, we found that it was pretty much spot on for accuracy, and we can understand why the company boasts so much about its technology in this area. I’d love to see a head-to-head comparison between the Aethon and the YiHi to getter a better idea about how they compare. Suffice it to say, however, that the Aethon did its job well when we ran it through its paces.
The Battery
The battery’s wattage seems accurate enough in terms of rating. Of course, that battery isn’t likely to give you all-day battery life, but that may not matter to most users. That’s because the device offers the new pass-through charging capabilities, as well as 2.0 amp charges. That helps the entire unit to recharge super-fast. The pass-through vape option doubles up on that feature by ensuring that you can still use your device even while you’re busy charging it.
The Vape
I’ve said it before in previous reviews of some of the best electronic cigarettes, but I’m going to say it again here. There are a lot of us out here who would like to see even more devices make use of pass-through vaping capability. We’re a mobile group, and there are times when we can’t get to our charged devices. There’s a real benefit to being able to plug in your current vaping unit and just allow it to soak up power while you continue to vape as needed. This should be as standard as USB charging, in my opinion.
The Kit
The kit strikes us as another solid offering from Innokin. To be frank, it’s not the type of design that’s likely to knock anyone’s socks off, but it has much to commend it – especially for beginning vapers and even those with a few years’ experience under their belts. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for something new, or just need a new backup device.
Conclusion
For us, though, it left a little to be desired. The tank is less than what we would prefer to see, even in a device this small. And the features are pretty basic for our tastes. Moreover, the power and flexibility – while certainly good enough for any newer vaper – are not really suitable for anyone with any real familiarity with the best vaping devices. In sort, this is great for the market it’s targeting: the newbies and intermediates. For advanced users, however, there are far too many other options on the market to settle for the Innokin Kroma.
