Is It Bad That You Are Addicted to Vaping
Having been introduced back in 2008, Electronic cigarettes have continued to gain massive popularity in the recent years. Utilized as a way to quit ingestion of harmful agents of smoking and/or quitting smoking, it often develops into a habit in and of itself, especially among teenagers. While many cigarette smokers turned to e cigs, vape pens and box mods in the hopes of avoiding cancer causing agents in cigarettes (tar and arsenic), studies from the American Association for the Advancement of Science has signaled that vaping is far from non-threatening.
Research Studies of Vaping Addiction
There are various studies that have been conducted to determine whether vaping addiction is dangerous or not. One such study was conducted by the Pen State College of Medicine back in 2014. In this study, volunteer ex-smokers were interviewed. The respondents reported that on average, they were smoking 24 cigarettes on a daily basis, and once they switched to vaping, they reported that they had 24 vape sessions regularly.
The addiction was found to be the same, but vaping was found to have a greater influence on behavioral and psychological changes. A few of them had instances where they woke at night to get a nicotine dose while other e-cig users were able to wait until the next day to vape. Additionally, most respondents admitted that they had few cravings for e-cigs as compared to their previous cravings for conventional cigarettes.
This study concluded that the difference in addiction to e-cigs and cigarettes could be attributed to usage; smoking is a one-go practice, and many usually finished the whole cigarette at one-go, while in vaping they took several puffs after a short period- 2-3 puffs for every 30 minutes.
Part of the problem is the evolution of the humble electronic cigarette. Four or Five years ago it started out with electronic cigarettes that looked and resembled the traditional cigarette. But these days the manufacturer has developed the device with less resistance within the coils, and thus produce huge amounts of vapor, known as sub ohm vaping. Using the best box mods produces such a sweet taste and smooth vape that it is now, in the words of a vaper, a beautiful and clean experience.
